I'm heading to the post office in about a half hour to send off all the bead goodies!  Thank you all again!  The Monet bead sets are all snatched up but there are some hearts left if you're interested:

Wow, April Fool's Day & I got nothing...  I used to love this day as a kid, but now I'm just excited that we're into a new month that promises to be warmer than the last one.  I think we might even see grass soon, how exciting!

Monday, April 4th

Is it crazy to want to put this kind of wallpaper up in our house?  I'm loving this picture so much that I want that forest (& maybe that little kitty too) in our living room.  Chris & I have been talking about being cooped up inside during the long winter months & how much we crave to see the green in nature so we've been thinking about bringing the outdoors in.  This is one project we are contemplating.  Another project:

A green wall.

What are your thoughts?

Tuesday, April 5th

Live video feed of an eagle nest somewhere in Iowa with a new Eaglet!  Waiting on two more eggs.

Wednesday, April 6th

Oh how I love these Mullanium Birds.  I think one of them would look good near our indoor forest?  This little Eggbert guy is my favorite...

I think.

I also like this little beauty:

Oh & this one, which is both magical & ominous:

Oh & this sweetie:

There's plenty more to view here.  Each one, it's own work of art, unique & full of personality.

The weather is picking up.  I think I'll head out for a walk this afternoon.

In the Atacama Desert, Chile ~ photo courtesy of my Uncle Bill

This cactus is so *sweet*.  I just want to hug it (which would not be a smart thing to do), and exclaim, "you can do it little buddy, grow!"

Chris & I just booked a little mini getaway to Phoenix next month so I must have cacti on my brain.  That and reading Kate McKinnon's blog; she lives in Tucson & talks about her love of the desert often.

I could use a little heat.  Even with things warming up around here, it still feels like just the beginning of Spring.  Last night, when Chris got home, we went to sit out on our south facing front porch.  I had capris & sandals on & lasted about 5 minutes.  Brrr.

But if I was sitting on a porch somewhere in Arizona, I would be drinking a Dos Equis, snacking on these & wearing some fabulous turquoise bracelets, which we will have plenty of available at our Spring Open House April 29th & 30th.  If you would like an invite, email me please.

Happy Friday!

Tuesday, April 12th

Just a few sneak peaks of some of the jewelry we'll have available at our Open House on April 29th & 30th:

Fresh & dainty Spring flowers; a wonderful gift set for Mother's Day.

Freeform pendants with groovy designs to explore that are different on each side!  (We offer chains for all of our pendants.)

I love these bracelets so much that I'm not sure they'll even make it to the sale *wink, wink*.  But I will try my best to resist scooping them up before hand.  Sleek chicklets bursting with watery, rainbow colors that dance in the light of the sun & earrings that are so irresistibly cute, I can barely stand it!

Stormy sea bracelet & starfish earrings.  Striking, sophisticated, sweet & sparkly rolled up into one gorgeous package.

* Please note, all jewelry is sold separately, you can pick & choose your own combinations when you come to our show.

I will be sending out email notifications about our Open House today, so if you are expecting an email & don't receive one or you would like an invitation, please email me at carrie@beadtree.net or carrieleehamilton@gmail.com & I'll make sure to send one out for you.

Today.

Just another typical Spring day here, perfect for torching & listening to some good music.  If you've discovered a new band/singer that you love, please email me, I'm in need of some new tunes.

Monday, April 18th

We went to see 54-40 on the weekend & I took some pictures with my iPhone.  Though the shots are a little grainy, I thought the lights in the photos turned out kind of cool.

Tuesday, April 19th

Longing for something unique?

A fantastic photo by Roman Lysenko (via A Cup of Joe).

You'll be able to find it at our Spring Show, which is only 10 days away!

There will be plenty of goodies, including these two bracelets!

Do you have your invite yet?  If not, please email me

Thursday, April 21st

Two nights ago, Chris slapped on his best Jamaican accent, said a few things that I didn't quite catch & headed out the back door to barbeque some Jerk Chicken.  When he came back in, we ate some of the best chicken I've ever tasted.  This recipe is so darn good, I had to share it with you.

Stock photo from the internet ~ our chicken was more yellowy

Grilled Jerk Chicken courtesy of Once Upon a Chef ~ she has a photo step by step & a printable version so it's just best you go to her website to see the recipe.

Our slight variations ~ We added a 1/4 cup of vinegar to the marinade for a bit of tang along with 3 teaspoons of turmeric because we like how it makes the chicken turn a warm, buttery yellow & because of all it's health benefits.  We peeled the skin away; frankly, it doesn't need it & we kept the habanero seeds in the marinade so that it stayed nice & spicy.

Other than that, we followed the recipe to a tee & it was delicious.  I would recommend doubling the recipe so you can make 2 batches, one to eat now & one to freeze for when the Jerk Chicken craving strikes again.

And a little retro reggae to go with your jerk chicken:

Monday, April 25th

Beautiful tulips in the sunshine ~ thanks for the flowers, mom!

More sneak peaks ~ RED bracelets available this Friday & Saturday.

Today, I'm off to my mom's to price our jewelry.  We are working hard to get ready for our sale this weekend.  I'll be sending out one more reminder about our show so if you don't get your invite, just email me & I'll make sure you do.

Tuesday, April 26th

We will have summery bracelets in watermelon & lime colors available this weekend!

And a few things totally unrelated to our sale but worth sharing ~

Hydrangea cupcakes, so pretty.

A Beaver story you have to hear to believe!

And a video that's worth seeing, if you haven't yet.

Wednesday, April 28th

My talented friend, Tricia will be offering her swimwear in Edmonton for one day only (tomorrow).  If you're looking to get a great swimsuit that fits properly, this is a golden opportunity.  Here's the details:

And some accessories to wear by the pool:

Gorgeous turquoise & silver jewelry ~ paired with the glass bead

goodies, these will make a splash!

We also have lots of sparkly transparent jewels in fresh colors.

And juicy chicklet bracelets that shimmer in the sunshine & show off that tan.

That's the last of the sneak peaks before our show.  You'll just have to come out and see the rest in person.  Hope you can make it this Friday or Saturday.  If you need any additional information, please contact me at carrie@beadtree.net.

Thursday, April 29th

Oh... well, I guess I do have one more little preview.  I made these beads earlier this week & gave them to my mom yesterday.  I'm sure she'll make some beautiful jewelry with them for the show this weekend.  Hope to see you!
