Lucha Libre Hero ~ Mercury! Mercury!

I'm back, but I have a few things to "wrestle" with.  I'll have a big update in a few days.

Monday ~ February 11th

Crack open the Piņata to see some eye candy!

O.k. kids, I'm not going to lie to you, this update is a long one.  There are 6 pages of photos & text about our little Mexican journey so grab yourself a margarita, put on your flip flops & click on the piņata above to see the photos.

                    Sagrado corazon Tin Box

During our trip, Chris & I celebrated our 7th year anniversary (February 2nd).  My mom gave us this as a gift ~ a tin box that I fell in love with in a little store in Sayulita.  She observed my reaction when I first saw it & later on, while Chris & I were exploring other small streets in town, she snuck into the store & bought it.  It's beautiful & sassy.  I'm wondering what to put inside it, if anything?  Maybe all the cards Chris has given me over the years or a collection of photographs of us... hmm, haven't decided yet.

I've been making beads the last couple of days, but I haven't been happy with the results.  What's going on in my brain just isn't translating into the glass ~ getting back into the saddle again hasn't been easy.  I'm going to plug away though so there will be something up for sale sooner or later.

Thursday ~ February 14th

                           Ceiling Fresco ~ Villa Romance

Happy Valentine's Day, Bunny.

Saturday ~ February 16th

I'm open for business!

As I've alluded to before, since I've been back the bead muse has up & left on her own vacation.  So I thought, 'why don't I offer to make past sets while I get back into my groove?'  With that, I'm opening up sales on 5 of my very favorite previous sets, listed below (I am also willing to do half sets on the bigger strands if that works better with your budget).  Please note that I will do my best to make the sets look similar to the previous sets, but the very nature of glass work doesn't allow exact duplication so there will be slight variations (all the better as it makes each set unique).  I will open up sales today & see how it goes.  I'm going to shut things down if/when the requests reach a full month's worth of work as I don't want you to have to wait much longer than that for your own order & by then I hope I will be inspired to move on.  Shipping is an additional $5 (or $12 for Xpress ~ traceable) & GST will be added to Canadian orders.   Click on the title of beads you want to purchase below (there is no limit per person so order as much as you want).  Any questions, feel free to email me.  Thanks!

wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Tuesday ~ February 26th

Heather, James, Chris, Me, Tricia, Mike

We had a really wonderful weekend in Vancouver with our buddies, getting up to the usual Vancouver shenanigans including strolls in Stanley Park, Chinese food in Chinatown, browsing the colorful Granville Island market, eating king crab, walking through a rainforest forest & I even got to meet gardener Thomas Hobbs, author of the fabulous book, The Jewel Box Garden

And the concert was awesome, Corb Lund was a superstar & Barney Bentall came up on stage & sang with him.  Do you remember Barney Bentall & the Legendary Hearts?  Here's a blast from the past, oh & here too.

After the concert & after a failed attempt to get back stage, we (Heather, James, Tricia, Mike, Chris & I) all wandered out into the street only to run into Barney Bentall leaving the building.  I asked him to sign something, only to realize that I had no pen & nothing to sign ~ yeah, it wasn't very cool, however, Mike had his cell phone camera & took a picture, I'll post it when he sends it to me.

It was a magical time, one of those rare occasions when you're among the best of company, in the best of places doing the things you love best.

Back to reality, I have lots of work ahead of me & so, without further ado, I'm off to make beads.

Bead update

I've finished all the "Wild at Heart" orders so they'll be out in the mail by Monday (still need to string them & wrap them up).  If you ordered another set(s) with the "Wild at Heart" beads, you'll have to wait a bit more.  Now it's on to the "Madrid" orders.  I'm having a lot of fun, thank you!

* A heartfelt farewell to February, you were fantastic! *
