Tuesday ~ July 5th

The quickness of the river, the sound an oar makes as it pierces the water, the sandy-red banks, a blue heron above, big fluffy clouds, swallows swooping, the smell after a brief rainstorm, fireworks in the far distance, sleeping outside, coyotes howling, hawks circling, baby ducks, muddy shores & hanging out with my best friend...just some of the reasons why I love canoeing.

Friday ~ July 8th

New riddle clue posted here.  So far no one has figured out the right city, so if you emailed me a guess, please try again.  If you get the city & country correct this week, you will be entered 3 times into the draw!  Good luck.

I'm beading a bit, but there's been a lot of other events going on.  I hope to have custom orders from the show complete by mid week, thanks for your patience!  I'm still not taking custom orders for bead sets, but I will notify you all when I am.  I hope you have a super fun weekend.  We have a wedding this weekend ~ Congratulations Holly & Troy!

"Don't believe what your eyes are telling you.  All they show is limitation.  Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way to fly." ~ Excerpt from Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.

I have mentioned recently that I will be taking a "bead break" to work on another project.  This project has been brewing for over 5 years now & it's time to make it happen.  I am going to be working on writing a book.  My mom will be working on the illustrations for this book as well.  I don't expect to have it finished this summer, but I need to get the ball rolling.  I can't give away much more than that for the moment, but I will be mentioning it more & more as time goes by.  I'm very, very excited (& nervous).

I still will try to list ebay auctions when I can so please keep visiting.

Wednesday ~ July 13th

My cats NEVER hang out with each other...or so I thought until I caught them this morning all snuggly & basking in the sun together ~ ah.

Yesterday's Wine...

Photo courtesy of Willie Nelson's website.

We went to see Willie Nelson last night - 12 of us & we had great seats!  And it was such a great show!  And wow - I'm feeling pretty darn lucky!

Going to take it easy today; enjoy a big ol' cup o' joe, watch the bumblebees hide in the foxglove, flip through a magazine, reflect on last night's events & breath in this glorious summer morn.  Hope you're having a relaxing one too.

This photo is of a quilt made by Deb Tilley, an Art Quilter.  What a strikingly beautiful & original design!  Deb is having a show here in Edmonton starting in October & if you'd like to see more of her amazing art pieces you can contact her at deborahtilley@hotmail.com.

I've had one busy week!  I've gone to a folk festival, camping, canoeing, a surprise birthday party & lots of visiting with family & friends - it's been wonderful!  I will be listing an auction tonight that I'm very excited about called "Spellbound" & inspired by all the Harry Potter talk.
