Tall Order...

 

I've been plodding through custom orders so I haven't been here to update as much as I would like to be.  I did, however, draw a name for the last set of beads for April's contest & you can read all about it here.  I really appreciate everyone's involvement in April's contest - thanks to all of you that voted!  I've been debating about May's contest.  I'm not sure if I want to do the once a week thing this month because it's quite a bit of work to keep it up & this is a very busy time for me.  I'm also, currently out of riddles & would need some time to find one that would work well for the riddle contests... And I thought of another cool challenge that I wouldn't mind getting going - a little "Where in the World is Carrie Hamilton?" style contest (will explain more later) so I just need to decide what to do.  I'll sort it out by the weekend I'm sure.  Thanks for stopping by ~ enjoy your day!

Isn't this a great picture?  This was my mom at age 18 dressed up for Klondike Days (a yearly festival in our city that celebrates the time of the gold rush).

My extremely talented friend Tamye is a Stamping Queen!  In fact, she was just on t.v. this morning showing her stamping skills.  If you live in Alberta & like making beautiful cards & creative gifts, while getting to know other like-minded people, you should check out the many stamping opportunities here, maybe you'll make a career out of it, just like Tamye did!

Tomorrow I start a 2 day class with Jim Smircich.  I'm really looking forward to it!  Jim's an expert at shapes & heat control so I'm sure I'll learn a lot.  I'll post some pictures when it's all done.

Sunshine on a cloudy day...

 

No beads this weekend, but we did get to visit our new niece.

Sunshine Maybelle Nelner.  Isn't she a beauty! 

 

 

This is her mom Pam looking great the day after she gave birth!  Pam & Wes have 3 little boys & now a beautiful baby girl - congratulations Pam & Wes! 

 

It's raining out ~ a perfect day to stay in & make beads...maybe I'll have a photo of them to show you tomorrow.


Wednesday ~ May 18th

 

 

Well, as promised, here's a picture of the beads I made yesterday.  It doesn't seem like that many, but there's a variety of colors used which can slow down the process.  I'm all over the place right now!  After doing custom orders for quite some time, I've been storing up all these new ideas & yesterday I did some experimenting, in fact there were a few more beads than this, but some didn't pass for the photo.  Today, I figure I can decide which ones "work" & focus on those colors/styles.  Right now, I'm working on pendant beads for a couple of stores here in town & I have to make earrings to match so I might also spend today on earrings.  Where's the eBay auction I've been intending to put up?  Good question...I hope I can focus on that soon, but there's a few things I need to take care of first. 

 

Just got back from a really nice walk in the river valley with my friend Kelly (who is mere days away from having a baby!).  It rained yesterday so everything smells so fresh this morning & the sun is out...makes it hard to be inside...very, very hard.
