Wednesday ~ September 1st

Well the All Girls Camping Extravaganza was incredible!  A weekend of beer drinking, gourmet food eatin', game playin' & story tellin'.  This year was so much fun thanks to all the girls that came who are some of the nicest, funniest, most interesting people I know!  Click here to see a couple of photos.

I can't believe it's September!  Lucky for me September is my favorite month of the year. It's always such a bittersweet time when new things are happening & "old" things are put to rest.  Going back to school, watching the season change, geese flying overhead in that miraculous v-formation on their way to warmer places, harvest time, new directives towards Christmas, snow, indoors & darker days, that crisp bite in the air now that makes me feel so alive...  A month of profound transformation.

This September is jam packed for Chris & I.  We're throwing our house warming party, we're going to the Labour Day Classic Football Game against rival teams Edmonton & Calgary & just to make it interesting, we invited our friends up from Calgary for the game so it should be a lot of fun (go Eskies go!).  We're also going to see Los Lobos in concert & we're going on a cruise later this month - 5 days from Vancouver to Los Angeles.  Oh & somewhere in there, I'm supposed to make a gazillion beads for a few upcoming shows!

We have a winner for the Great Garden Contest!  A random draw was conducted at the crack of dawn this morning & the name I pulled was...

Vivian Moubray ~ congratulations Vivian!

Tuesday ~ September 7th

I've been busy with custom orders including this necklace here called "Eye Candy".

Our house warming party is this Saturday so Chris & I are spending our free time finishing up some home projects.  But there's only so much we can do & since it might snow, it looks like the deck won't be completely finished in time.  Who cares, it's time to party!

Tuesday ~ September 14th

I made a "slide show" of before & after shots of our house & then I accidentally erased it so I will have to redo it when I have a chance.  For now, take a look at the before & after shot of part of our backyard.  When we bought the house in April there was snow still on the ground so of course the "after" picture looks better just because it's greener but you can see other drastic changes.  For instance, we cut the tree down that was growing out of the garage!  And that very strange shed we demolished within the first week.  We put up some lattice & made a perennial bed there & trimmed the lilac tree on the right.  In a couple of years it should look quite stunning.

Thursday ~ September 16th

I just thought I would pop in and ask if any of you out there have been to Seattle, Astoria (Oregon), San Francisco, or Monterey Bay, & if so, could you please email me your favorite things to do or see there.  We leave tomorrow afternoon for a cruise down the Pacific Coast & will be docking at those places for a day each.  Thanks!  Email me at carrie@beadtree.net.  Have a super weekend ~  I'll be gone until September 26th.
