Tip: We love to watch the birds during the winter, but if you hang bird feeders directly on your tree branches you will harm them (strangling the bark because of the excessive weight of the feeder).  An alternative to this problem is to collect dead branches from other trees and position them on the living branches for support.  Then you can hang your heavy bird feeders on the dead branches and you'll have a happy tree.  Thanks for the tip Pam!
