Here's some pictures from our family reunion in Phoenix & trip down the Grand Canyon:
After our first day in Phoenix, we went out to Canyon Lake about an hour or so away. Here's a picture as we approached it. |
|
This is a picture of my cousins with Chris in the middle & my brother on the far right side. We're on a boat called "The Dolly" cruising on Canyon Lake.
Seconds later, a wind came up & blew the hat off my cousin Andrew's head (he's the tall one with the white shirt in the middle). He reached to catch it & knocked off Chris' hat too - doh! |
|
The following day, we all went on a train ride. I took this picture while we were waiting to board the train. I just love these guys! This shot makes me really happy. |
|
Here's the end of the train & the amazing landscape we were traveling through. It was a pretty fun trip, we had a car to ourselves, which is a good thing because we're a rather rowdy bunch.

And this is the only photo I have of all of the family together. I'm behind the two in blue (Molly & Aunt Dorothy) wearing the black cap.

While in Phoenix, Chris, my brother, Bruce & I stayed at my cousins' Vikki & Steve's house. They have a pool in their backyard (like most Phoenicians) & we spent a fair amount of time swimming & even jumped off the roof into the pool once ~ thanks for the hospitality guys!

Driving up to Flagstaff, two days before the white water rafting trip, we stopped at a few attractions including Walnut Canyon. Can you spot the square windows of the ancient dwellings in the middle of the page & a little to the right?
Here we (my Uncle Doug, Uncle Bill, me & my mom) are in one of those dwellings ~ cool!

On the way to Page, we stopped at Montezuma Castle.

We stopped at the Glen Canyon Dam in Page & went on the dam(n) tour ~ haha. It was pretty fascinating, including going down 528 feet into the interior of the dam. |
