Babylon

It is said that the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were built by King Nebuchadnezzar back in 605 BC to cheer up his wife, Amyitis, who had left her lush green homeland for the flat, sun-baked terrain of Mesopotamia.  The gardens must have been very impressive but I think he could have put a smile on her face with a set of these ancient looking, jewel-like beads.  9 smooth glass beads with silver streams & deep blue rivers running through in a criss-cross pattern against an earthy green & yellow backdrop.  Complimented with 10 glowing night-blue spacers made with Bullseye glass.   This set would make a stunning necklace, but there's enough here to create several pieces of jewelry.  The thin beads average 19 x 20 mm, while the blue spacers average 13 x 9 mm.  The entire strand measures 30 cm long (12 inches).
