Happy New Year to you ~ may this be your best year yet!

I've been absent a long time mainly due to the fact that my computer hasn't been playing nice with me.  I ended up losing all my emails & contacts a few weeks ago, & in the end, had to get a Computer Tech to come by & recover them.  Luckily, things are now restored & having everything disappear without warning forced me to clean out my computer, back up files & continue converting my web archives into book format.  I finally finished Year 2006 ~ take a peak for yourself:

So, I've been here the whole time, but after spending up to 8 hours a day on this computer, I'm a little uninspired to blog.  My apologies.

Aside from the computer fiasco, it's been a great start to the new year.  Along with organizing all my files & photos on my computer, I've been organizing other things in my life ~ things around the house, paperwork, long overdue projects...

And some really exciting news ~ Chris & I will be celebrating my 40th birthday (coming up soon) in Hawaii!  I will be swimming in the ocean with dolphins on that day if all goes well. Last weekend, my amazing sister-in-law, Pam threw her husband & I a birthday party complete with an Elvis Impersonator:

Yep, that was a very fun surprise!

I haven't torched since Christmas, but once back from our trip, I hope to be filled with lots of inspiration so stay tuned.

                                            A pretty bird for you.

Happy New Year's Eve!  I hope you have a fun & safe night.  Remember to drink a couple of glasses of water before you go to bed if you have a few drinks.  Makes all the difference in the morning.

I've been having some serious computer issues.  Norton Antivirus automatically renewed itself on my computer & in the process my entire inbox, email folders & contacts have been wiped out completely.  I guess if I wanted to start with a clean slate, the beginning of a new year is the time to do it, but I did have some very important information in there that I need to try to recover - it's off to the computer doctor I go, when they open up in the new year.

In the meantime, I am working on trying to get as much stuff off this computer as possible.  It's been dodgy as of late, slow as molasses & randomly crashing.  After losing 2000+ contacts in a blink of an eye, I'm feeling a little bit nervous.  There's so much of my life crammed into this little box.  I need to get certain things into safer places & delete the stuff that's slowing me down.  So for now, I don't know how much updating I'll be doing until I'm back on track again, but I hope to be back soon.

Happy New Year!

Wow, Christmas Eve!  Where did this week go?  We are off to see Chris' Dad today & it will be a steady stream of food & family from then onwards so I'm wishing you a very, Merry Christmas & all the best during the Holidays.  Enjoy Aunt Chip's Tips on How to Wrap a Fabulous Gift:

                   Beautiful Door

The patina on this door is divine - I wish to make beads that look like this some day.

Other things on my wish list:

Yummy Cookbook.

Excellent Pruners.

Moroccan Oil for shiny hair.

What looks to be an Amazing Quarterly

Burrowing Owl Wine.

Soft Moc Slippers.

& the Iphone 4S.  * I'm almost due for a new phone with my contract & was thinking that if I upgrade to this, I might be able to use it for vacations & bead photos.  If you have this phone, how is the camera on it?  Can you get away with using it on a holiday instead of a good point & shoot or D-SLR?  How are close up shots?

Would love to hear from you.

Saw this video on Facebook (thanks Susan) ~ thought it was interesting:

Just a drive-by hello as it's kind of a busy week ~ I'm hosting the Fireflies (Bead Makers of Edmonton) Annual Christmas party this Thursday so I'm preparing for that & trying to squeeze in some time to make more owls.

Finished painting the kitchen & took some photos but they were too dark so I'll try again some time this week.  Off to torch...

Wednesday, December 7th

I had my first flying dream (that I could remember) the other day.  It was awesome!  I just flapped my wings, err... arms & could fly.  Then I saw this video:

Incredible!  And scary.

The microwave & hood fan goes up today, hooray, hooray!  Then it's just paint, trim and a window treatment & the kitchen will be fini!  I will take pictures next week for sure.

Still some goodies for sale.  If you haven't checked them out, click here & here.
